Today is the last -7th -day of my Free Crochet Flower Pattern a Day Challenge. I was working very hard for the whole week to create all those free crochet flower patterns for you and I hope you will find them useful. If you don't have any ideas on how to use those crochet flowers I've got another surprise for you, I will be making something very nice with those crochet flowers so keep watching this blog.

A little story about today's crochet flower. The full name is Myosotis but we all know it by it's common name "forget-me-not" which was borrowed and translated from German, and first used in English in 1398. Similar names and variations are found in many languages. Myosotis flowers has 5 petals each. Flowers come in blue, white, pink and yellow colors with yellow middles and they are about 1cm in size or even smaller.

I like to think my patterns are easy to read but if you are a beginner and still struggling with reading the patterns this book will help you:

To make this forget-me-not crochet flower I used standard acrylic DK yarn and 3mm hook. Pattern is written in US terms.

I currently use Knit Pro crochet hooks as well as cheap bamboo ones if I'm missing any size in Knit Pro. They are nice as soft in a grip and steel part is very smooth. I'm very happy with them, the only thing that I don't like is I only own them in black color as I bought them 3 years ago and they didn't seem to have a color choice back then. Here are the Amazon links if you are would like to purchase the colorful Knitpro hooks:

Stitches used in this pattern:
Chain
Treble

Start by making magic ring and work all the stitches around that magic ring.

1) Sl st around magic ring and make 3 ch

2) Make 1 tr

3) Make 1 ch

4) Make  1 tr

5) Make 3 ch

6) Sl st back to the magic ring

Repeat steps 1-6 four more times to make 5 petals in total.

Pull on the loose end of the magic ring to adjust the size of the ring so the petals overlap each other slightly.

Crocheting in the Round: Mix & Match Hats (w/ Stacey Trock)

With overcast stitch sew on yellow middle by going over twice at the bottom of each petal making sure you stitch around magic ring. Use double yarn when doing the stitches so they are more visible as shown on the photos below.

Blocking (optional) - To make the flower even prettier wet and pin it down by pulling on the middle chain between trebles to make the petals more 'pointy'
